Our Approach to Learning
These are the lenses through which all of our work is grounded.
A way of thinking, actively gathering information to develop better understandings and construct new knowledge.
A way of being, reaching outward in search of new knowledge, and reflecting inward as we gain experience.
A way of caring for oneself and the world around us, developing connections and relationships that foster kindness and conservation.
A way of moving, constantly wondering, dreaming and pushing beyond the boundaries we face towards an exciting future.
Meet the Team
Our team consists of educators with broad backgrounds and diverse skill sets. Combined, we have 50+ years working in the classroom at High Tech High, where we have experimented with our practice through club work, projects, and extracurricular programs.
Andrew Lerario
Since 2006, Andrew Lerario has worked as a progressive teacher, looking for ways to develop his practice to remain on the frontier of education. He firmly believes that to effectively mentor students, he needs to continually push himself as an adult learner.
Brian Delgado
Brian Delgado loves learning. He strives to know a little bit more about the world each day. He has spent the past fifteen years as an educator learning how to inspire young minds to think more critically and more sharply.
Adam Borek
For the last 13 years, Adam has coached, mentored, and provided children with opportunities to experience the outdoors and learn about the world around them. He is proud to call his love of learning and teaching a career at Blue Dot Education and High Tech High.
Wesley Davis
Over the past twelve years, Wesley has worked for schools that specialized in project-based learning, social-emotional development, and blended instruction. Through meaningful projects and activities, Wesley strives to cultivate a sense of wonder, belonging, and scientific literacy that will benefit his students for a lifetime.
Mike Strong
Through his 13 years in education, Mike has urged himself and his students to pursue excellence using tools like creativity, critical thinking, empathy and passion to explore the physical and metaphysical world around them. He believes that doing authentic work, filled with opportunity for adventure, ignites relentless learners.
